called him all alarmed that his cholesterol had dramatically jumped
up.
I plan to do a modified version of this. 2 regular eggs in the morning with a mandarin orange. 2 egg whites with a small cucumber/tomato salad for lunch. 2 egg whites and a small portion of low-carb veg. I also plan to drink tea without sugar and water to stay hydrated.
I am allergic to artificial sweetener so plain tea works for me.
I'm hoping to make it through 2 weeks of this.

Too much egg yolk can raise your cholesterol which is why I'm going to substitute egg whites for the rest of the meals.
I also plan to use salt, pepper, and mustard on my boiled eggs because I don't really care to eat eggs. Lol

Hi everyone, I just joined this group. I’m here looking for help. I know very little about Keto but want to start the diet. I’ve tried so many times to learn but I quickly get overwhelmed. I’m 5’6 350lbs and my weight has started to cause major health issues. My profile pic is 10 years old or so cus I’m too embarrassed to put up an accurate one. This is the biggest I’ve ever been in my life though I’ve always struggled with my weight. I have a rare back disease and am disabled and that helped to get me to this point. My weight is making it so much worse. My health is declining quickly and I fear if I don’t do something now I’ll be in serious trouble soon. I looked into a keto coach but on disability, I just can’t afford $400 plus to do it. Would anyone here be willing to take me under their wing and teach me what to do? I know very little and I’m sure it would be a bit of work to teach me. I can pay someone to help me some, I just can’t pay a ton. I really don’t know where to start or what to do and when I start reading about macros and ketosis and deficits I get overwhelmed and discouraged. I’d do much better if someone would be willing to teach me. If not I understand and I look forward to trying to learn from the group posts.

I was doing pretty well on keto but had a busy weekend… drinks (keto alcohol) but one pretty high carb meal.. the weight loss is gone (gained back 4 pounds) and not back into ketosis (I have a breath analyzer) .. how long does it take to undo a cheat day? Can we even have chest days? Anyone experience this?

The 4 lb is most certainly water weight (carbs retain fluids).. if you've been keto-adapted for more than 6 weeks, it should take 2-3 days to undo. Try intermittent fasting to speed it up

Hi I have 3.5 months doing keto... and i didn't like eggs, bacon, tuna, meat...and now I'm eating all of it. But I only eat the white I can't stand yolk, and I add anion and jalapeños which gives a better taste. I have lost 20 lbs.

Keep in mind I've had a gastric sleeve so I can only eat 1/4 the amount of a normal-sized tummy person....so I get full after a handful of bites.
I went a bit off track during a lockdown, so I'm trying to get back to protein basics like I was right after my surgery.

Take flaxseed bread and cut it into small sections and sprinkle with everything but the bagel seasoning and brush with olive oil and then put them in the air fryer.

Not many veggies are keto. I purchase Acacia fiber, and add it to our shakes and homemade bread, etc. because my wife can’t stand the chia seed flaxseed oatmeal stuff. Hope that helps

I lost 7 lbs the 1st week! That was encouraging but it seems like that’s it I have stopped at 7 lbs I am doing well on keto and I use the ketosis strips and it shows I have trace amounts and I have stopped taking my short-acting insulin! What’s your calorie intake like? Some of the fasting people say that if you lower your caloric intake too low, your body will lower your basal metabolic rate. Therefore, if you create a calorie deficit your body will use fewer calories and weight loss will stall. They recommend eating nutritious keto foods to a point where you feel satisfied/not hungry. And not snacking. You can track calories and make sure you’re eating an appropriate amount for your BMR (not too much2, not too little). Of course, they recommend trying this in an 8-hour window, or a 4-hour window - but the ideas seem to still apply with any diet. And that’s one of the theories about why using a calorie deficit alone is a flawed method for weight loss.

I take these too, My nutritionist recommended them. Eating healthy and following a keto diet can be a challenge but once you get past the first week and your insulin re-stabilizes it really does get easier. I use them to help me get into ketosis in an hour and then by following a keto diet I was able to lose fat a lot quicker.

first time I did keto I had bad symptoms so the second time I started it again
I ate 3 meals a day and when I dropped to two meals I drank half a glass of

accurate and measure what your body is expelling. There are blood meters but
they're kind of expensive in my opinion. If you're losing weight and feeling

don’t have to consume all, you're supposed to but you do need to meet the goal for
protein. From personal experience, if I didn’t get enough protein I hit a weight-loss stall
