Description of the exercises

1. Lie down on your back facing up; close your legs straightening them out. Place your hands under your buttocks with both palms facing down on both sides.

2. Gently and gradually raise your right leg up until it is at right angle with your body. Hold it for about one minute, and then bring it down. Repeat this action three times then bring your leg down.

3. Repeat same exercise with your left leg three times. Bring both legs flat down. This is meant to release your muscle ready for the main exercise.





4. Now raise both legs up at the same time gradually until they are vertically upright above your body. Take note of the level of contraction your stomach muscles will be experiencing during this exercise. Bring both legs down and repeat this exercise three times.
5. Finally raise both legs up until it goes over your head and touches the ground above your head. Hold it for a while before bringing it down. Do this three times.

What Is Weightloss And Why Is It Important?

Weight loss is the term used to express the reduction in body fat expected as a result of activities carried out by men, women, adolescents and children who are found to have added so much body weight beyond their expected weight, by virtue of their possessing excess fat in their body tissues.



Weight loss is important for so many reasons that cannot be exhausted here. Let me list just a few of them.

1. Overweight persons silently suffer psychologically when they find themselves in the midst of their mates or friends who are of normal weight, shape and size. Their extra size make their presence unnecessarily pronounced.

2. Medically speaking, overweight persons run the risk of developing heart diseases which may lead to heart failure and consequently death.

3. Most overweight people are fashion blind because the shape and size of their clothing are mostly out of stock. I know of a pretty lady who wears shapeless dresses now because she lost her shape to obesity.
Incidentally, I knew her when she was Slim and Trim and the cynosure of all eyes wherever she goes.

4. Overweight kids are often taunted by their mates in school not just at every little provocation, but deliberately to remind them of their shapelessness. This most often affect their academic performance.

5 Most overweight persons appear helpless either because they have unsuccessfully tried to reduce their weight or they are helpless and hopeless about their situation.

6.Some obese people develop breathing problems with time because their heart is subjected to excess pressure by internal organs near the heart.

7 Most overweight adults and kids are ruled out of sporting activities because they cannot meet up with the required exercises. Some have movement problems and are easily tired.

8. Overweight persons suffer from low self esteem. This is very dangerous because they may lack the will to execute simple tasks expected of them, not because they do not how to do but because they lack the will to succeed.
